We are inviting applications for a graduate research assistantship (GRA) within the Faculty of Management, Multimedia University (MMU), Cyberjaya. This GRA position is a part of a project funded by the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) under the Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE).
Successful applicant will be required to enroll for Masters study in MMU. The GRA is a research scholarship with a monthly stipend between RM1500-RM2300 for a period of 24 months.
Project Description: High Performance Work Practices in R&D Organizations
This research aims to study the implementation of High Performance Work Practices (HPWP) in R&D organizations in Malaysia. Managing R&D is a totally different experience compared to other industries. The challenge in managing R&D is attributed to the culture of the R&D environment namely, risk-taking and experimenting, team working, autonomy and knowledge-centricity. In addition, R&D professionals have a very unique nature in their career orientations, value systems and reward preferences. Based on this distinct nature of R&D activities, it is imperative that R&D organizations to implement high performance work practices (HPWP) in its effort to build exceptional and innovative workforce.
The candidate should possess a first or second class (preferably upper second class) bachelor degree in human resource management, business administration or equivalent. The candidate should also be highly motivated and have an interest to conduct research in the area of strategic human resource management.
