Scholarship Criteria and Entitlement:

Students who meet the criteria specified are eligible to apply for the Scholarship. Meeting the minimum criteria does not automatically guarantee the applicant a scholarship. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted by email with further details regarding the interview.

Opening of application: Two weeks before the commencement of trimester

Successful applicants must confirm acceptance of the scholarship offer within 1 week from the issuance date of the scholarship offer letter, failing which the scholarship will automatically lapse.

Terms & Condition:

1. The application is open to Malaysian citizen only with a full offer letter. Conditional offer letter or offer letter subject to pre-requisite are not accepted.
2. The scholarship is offered to those students that completed a Bachelor’s Degree Programme from a recognised institution with minimum CGPA of 3.33 and successfully registered for the postgraduate programme listed.
3. The scholarship is awarded based on the outcome of interview. The decision of the adjudicating Scholarship committee is final.
4. Scholarship duration is one (1) year for Full-Time programme and two (2) years for Part-Time programme respectively.
5. The Scholarship discount is only applicable to programme fees within the duration of Scholarship.
6. The Scholarship is not applicable for payment of re-sit / re-take of subjects.
7. Students are required to maintain GPA of 3.33 in every trimester throughout the duration of scholarship.
8. Leave of absence/ change of programme/ change of mode of study (FT/PT) is not allowed.
9. The minimum credit requirement is based on the course structure of the programme.
10. Students are only entitled to one (1) MMU Scholarship at one time. Students are not allowed to combine Scholarships.

The MMU Achievers Research Scholarship is open to Bachelor’s and Master’s degree graduates who wish to pursue a full-time postgraduate research programme at MMU and meet the following criteria:

Interview Session: The 2^nd week of the following month after application.

To remain eligible, successful applicants must adhere strictly to both timelines provided below.

This scholarship offer is valid for a period of three (3) months from the date of issuance. Failure to register within this timeframe will result in the AUTOMATIC expiration of the offer without further notice.

Terms & Condition:

1. Application is open for Malaysian/International students.
2. Applicants must already have a full offer letter but yet to register. Conditional offer letter or offer letter subject to pre-requisite are not accepted.
3. Scholarship is applicable only for Master’s and Ph.D. programmes by research (full-time).
4. Applicants who meet the minimum criteria specified are eligible to apply for the Scholarship. Meeting the minimum criteria does not automatically guarantee the applicant a scholarship.
5. The scholarship is awarded based on the outcome of interview. The decision of the adjudicating Scholarship committee is final.
6. The scholarship offer is valid for a period of three (3) months from the date of issuance. Failure to register within this timeframe will result in the AUTOMATIC expiration of the offer without further notice.
7. Students unable to meet registration deadlines due to visa processing delays or other reason must submit a formal appeal to the Dean of the Institute for Postgraduate Studies (IPS) at MMU. This appeal must be lodged prior to the scholarship’s expiration date and subject to approval.
8. Should a student arrive for registration with an expired or lapsed scholarship, they shall be held personally liable for the full settlement of all applicable fees. No appeals for reinstatement will be entertained in cases where deadlines were missed due to a failure to adhere to the scholarship’s terms and conditions.
9. Duration of scholarship is limited to two (2) years for Master’s and three (3) years for Ph.D. programmes respectively.
10. The Scholarship covers registration fee, programme fee, student development fee, subject fees and thesis examination fee within the duration of Scholarship.
11. The scholarship does not cover any allowance, living stipend, visa fees, or miscellaneous expenses. 
12. The Scholarship is not applicable for payment of re-take subjects.
13. Students are required to maintain a satisfactory progress in every progress monitoring cycle throughout their duration of study in order to enjoy the scholarship, failing which the scholarship will be terminated and no appeal is allowed.
14. Strictly no scholarship extension is allowed.
15. Applicants are not allowed to combine Achievers Research Scholarship with other scholarships. Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) hired by funding that do not provide PG fee sponsorship (e.g. FRGS, PRGS) can apply for the Achievers Research Scholarship.
16. In the event that a candidate is unsuccessful in their initial application, they are permitted one additional opportunity to re-apply in the month of interview, provided that registration has not been done. Please note that each candidate is limited to a maximum of two application attempts. Candidates should be aware that re-application may result in a delay in the programme registration process.
